3 Ways Our Family Mini Sessions Are Unique

I know my philosophy on family mini sessions is completely different than most photographer friends. Here are the 3 ways our family mini sessions are unique and why.

IMAGE QUANTITY- You get all the images and all of them are edited, not just a set number.
Years ago, I saw other photographers offering 5/10/15 images per mini session. The idea is that your customers like so many that they purchase more from you and you only have the edit the 5 that a customer choose. Here is why I don't do that!
Reason 1: I don't want you to have to choose. In a scenario where you are limited to choose, you will typically choose just the most perfectly posed ones.
Reason 2: I don't love the idea of upselling. I price my sessions for my time and you get everything I create. Of course I'd love for you to purchase a print from your gallery, but that's different than rationing poses for an upsell opportunity.
Reason 3: I think you deserve them all. I like to shoot posed ones, candid ones, funny ones and I want you to have them.

PICK YOUR LOCATION- We can choose a location that fits your style and is close to YOUR home. We now even offer indoor studio sessions too!
Years ago, I used to try to pick a different location every year, here is why I do custom mini session locations now.
Reason 1: Some families missed out on some great locations because they did photos every 2-3 years and I never repeated.
Reason 2: Some locations were very far from where my customers lived, so it took a lot of effort to get there on time.
Reason 3: Some families want to bring pets, props, or extended family, so customizing the location for the mini session is important.

CHOOSE A CUSTOM DATE- We pick a mini session date that is ideal for your family's schedule.
Years ago, I used to pick one date and schedule 10-12 mini sessions in an all day marathon. I found that it didn't work well for me and here's why.
Reason 1: I was exhausted by the middle of the family mini sessions
Reason 2: Only a few of the first and last mini sessions fell during the best lighting conditions, so not every family got the most ideal situation.
Reason 3: I used to do them all on Saturdays and Sundays which is when the best photo locations are packed out with people and other photographers, so even the best locations to shoot at were a struggle. Weeknight mini sessions are literally the best, no crowds, no pressure, no distractions.
Reason 4: You are welcome to book a family mini session any time during the year, not just for Fall or Christmas photos.

If you are ready to book your a mini session for your family, send me a message and let's find a date that works! We recommend finding 30 min on a weeknight before time change. You can check my availability here!
You are also welcome to book your family mini session online, but there might already be a location fixed for that date, so I recommend reaching out first if the location is important to you!
